Job Description

Lead the architectural evolution of AWS's next-generation content platform serving millions of developers worldwide. Drive strategic integration of existing content systems into our AI-first infrastructure while contributing hands-on to critical development work.

Shape the technical foundation for AWS documentation's transformation from traditional CMS to an AI-native platform that enables both human and AI authors to create high-quality technical content at unprecedented speed and scale.

Join a high-impact program building the future of technical content creation through advanced AI integration, sub-5-minute publishing workflows, and agent-accessible APIs.

Key job responsibilities
- Architect integration strategy for consolidating existing TCX Engineering systems into the AI-first content platform
- Contribute directly to platform development in areas requiring senior engineering expertise
- Analyze complex system architectures and make strategic decisions about system convergence
- Lead technical design discussions across multiple engineering teams and workstreams
- Drive architectural decisions that balance immediate delivery needs with long-term platform vision
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on complex integration challenges

A day in the life
You'll start your day reviewing the technical design for migrating our content automation systems that generate thousands of AWS documentation pages daily. You'll work closely with engineering teams across TCX to understand how their current systems should evolve within the Fusion architecture.

Beyond hands-on development, you'll spend time analyzing our existing content management systems, identifying which components should be consolidated into Fusion and developing the roadmap for that convergence. You'll interface with engineering leaders across the organization, influencing architectural decisions that will shape how AWS creates technical content for years to come.

About the team
You'll be joining TCX Engineering during the most significant platform transformation in AWS documentation history. Our team is building an AI-first content infrastructure that's moving beyond traditional CMS architecture to enable both human and AI authors to create high-quality technical content.

The role sits at the intersection of multiple engineering disciplines: content platform development, AI/ML integration, publishing systems, and large-scale system architecture. You'll work with specialized teams including Applied Science (AI/ML), Content Delivery, Core Platforms, and Content Automation, helping coordinate the technical strategy across these diverse areas.

We value both technical excellence and customer obsession, with the autonomy to make architectural decisions that will impact millions of AWS developers. The team culture emphasizes bridging immediate delivery needs with long-term platform vision, requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on technical contribution.- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
