SpaceX is seeking a Principal Supplier Development Engineer to join their Starship team. This role focuses on improving manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities to support the ambitious goals of the Starship program. Candidates should have a strong background in engineering and manufacturing.
You are a highly motivated and technically proficient engineer with a strong sense of ownership and a proven track record in complex manufacturing environments. You have experience acting as a primary technical point of contact for engineering machined components, and you excel at solving high-impact manufacturing and quality challenges throughout the supply chain. Your approach is grounded in first principles, allowing you to identify inefficiencies and engineering solutions that drive significant improvements in performance, yield, and cost reduction.
You have a strong background in evaluating and onboarding new suppliers, conducting rigorous technical assessments, and driving qualification activities to validate process capabilities. You are adept at identifying and executing alternative manufacturing methods that enhance production efficiency and quality. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that you can drive piece part quality and cost improvements while maintaining alignment with the overall goals of the Starship program.
Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing environments is a plus, as is familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques and materials. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to the mission of enabling human life on Mars.
