You have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 6 years of experience creating content for technical audiences. Your background includes documenting electrical infrastructure or hardware, and you have experience as a lead technical writer in a software development environment. You thrive in a distributed team setting and possess the ability to improve efficiency and quality in documentation processes. You are adept at learning new technologies and managing multiple priorities in a changing environment, and you work well both as a team member and as an individual contributor.
As a Senior Technical Writer at Google, you will plan, create, and maintain educational content that is integral to the engineering and user experience teams. Your work will often take the form of documentation, but may also include UI text, sample code, videos, and other educational materials. You will transform complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-focused documentation that meets the needs of various audiences involved in the design and operation of Google data centers. You will manage medium to large projects, coordinating contributions from team members and working closely with technicians, engineers, and program managers to ensure that the documentation is accurate and effective. Your role will involve editing, revising, and restructuring a wide range of documentation to deliver clear and well-structured writing that addresses the questions, problems, and needs of the end users.
