Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience programming in C++, Java, or Python. Your background includes 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and at least 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. You also have a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms, having spent 5 years honing these skills. If you have a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, that's a plus. You are versatile and display leadership qualities, eager to tackle new problems across the full-stack as technology continues to evolve.

You are passionate about developing accessible technologies and have experience in a technical leadership role. What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying software solutions that handle information at massive scale. You will work on specific projects that are critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business grows and evolves. Your role will involve managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, ensuring best practices are followed in terms of style guidelines, code accuracy, testability, and efficiency.

You will contribute to existing documentation or educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback. Triage product or system issues will be part of your responsibilities, requiring you to debug, track, and resolve issues by analyzing their sources and impacts on hardware, network, or service operations and quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, bringing fresh ideas from various areas including information retrieval, distributed computing, and large-scale system design.
