Overview

Google is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer to contribute to hardware design and validation projects. You'll work with Linux and networking technologies to implement and test subsystems. This entry-level position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and you may have gained experience in hardware engineering through internships, academic research, or publications. If you have a Master's degree, that's a plus, but not mandatory. You are familiar with Linux and have a basic understanding of networking, network troubleshooting, and debugging techniques. Your ability to diagnose failures and work with data center servers will be essential in this role.

What you'll do

As a Hardware Validation Engineer at Google, you will make technical contributions to medium-scale design or design validation projects under the guidance of your managers. You will implement, test, maintain, and contribute to the design of multiple subsystems, ensuring that they meet the required specifications. Your responsibilities will include preparing and providing various types of documentation, such as concept designs, drawing markups, budgets, schedules, and design validation plans or results. You will apply standard tools and methodologies to solve defined problems within your design projects, including modifying existing designs as necessary.

You will also coordinate interactions between labs and engineering teams, anticipating and resolving problems by applying your knowledge and skills. When necessary, you will escalate design, manufacturing, and product test issues to the appropriate personnel within the organization. Your role will involve generating implementation plans and providing technical expertise and guidance during deployment activities, contributing to cross-project collaborations and sharing knowledge relevant to well-defined tasks.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a culture that values community contributions and strives to improve operations, making it a better place to work. You will have opportunities to engage in various projects that enhance your skills and knowledge in hardware engineering. The collaborative environment will allow you to learn from experienced professionals while contributing to innovative hardware solutions.
