What you'll do

As a Software Engineer on the Schemas and Object Framework team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating platform systems that are essential for modeling complex scientific data. You will work closely with internal application teams to develop customizable schema types that integrate seamlessly with Benchling's platform. Your role will involve ensuring optimal data handling and shaping the data architecture to meet the diverse needs of our customers. You will also have the opportunity to influence technical strategy and establish best practices across product and platform teams.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions. Your contributions will directly impact how Benchling supports its customers in their scientific endeavors, enabling them to innovate and accelerate their research processes. You will participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and help mentor junior engineers on the team.
