Affirm is seeking a Senior Manager for Software Engineering in Developer Productivity to lead teams focused on CI/CD and release management. You'll drive improvements in developer experience and software delivery using tools like Jenkins and Docker. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills in a remote setting.
You have over 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on developer productivity and CI/CD practices. Your background includes leading engineering teams and fostering a culture of ownership and accountability. You are well-versed in release management and understand the intricacies of software delivery pipelines. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure and product engineering. Your technical expertise includes tools and technologies such as Jenkins, Docker, and AWS, which you have used to automate and streamline release processes. You are passionate about improving developer experience and reducing friction in build and deployment workflows. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to driving measurable improvements in key metrics like deploy duration and change failure rate.
Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform is a plus, as is familiarity with Agile methodologies. You have a track record of mentoring engineering leaders and managers, helping them grow in their roles. You are proactive in identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance team performance and software quality.
As the Senior Manager for Developer Productivity at Affirm, you will lead teams responsible for continuous integration and continuous delivery. Your primary goal will be to ensure that software reaches customers safely and efficiently. You will define and deliver a vision and strategy that automates the release process, reducing manual operations and scaling with Affirm's growth. You will partner with infrastructure and product engineering teams to build reliable, secure, and high-velocity delivery systems. Your leadership will significantly improve key metrics for speed, safety, and reliability, including deploy duration, change failure rate, and mean time to restore. You will mentor engineering leaders and managers, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability within your teams. You will also drive improvements in developer experience by reducing inner and outer loop durations and eliminating friction in build and deployment workflows.
