Asana is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to enable data-informed decision making across the company. You'll design and implement data products using technologies like Databricks and AWS. This role requires 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
You have 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering, demonstrating a strong mix of technical and collaboration skills. Your educational background includes a degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent technical field experience. You are proficient in cloud-based data processing and storage technologies like Databricks, Snowflake, AWS S3, Spark, and Airflow. You are fluent in SQL and proficient in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Scala, or Java. You quickly understand business priorities and proactively develop tools, automations, and analytics that support those priorities.
Experience with process automation and optimization opportunities is a plus. You have a track record of influencing best practices in data engineering and driving innovation across teams. Your ability to establish trust and strong relationships across technical and business teams ensures alignment on data strategy and execution.
In this role, you will design, implement, and scale end-to-end data products that support growing data processing and analytical needs. You will influence best practices in Databricks and cloud-based data engineering, driving innovation and adoption across teams. You will lead process automation efforts and proactively identify optimization opportunities, improving data workflows and ensuring scalability. Your contributions will enable company-wide data-informed decision making, allowing business and product teams to analyze and optimize user adoption, growth, and revenue.
You will collaborate closely with various teams, ensuring that data assets are leveraged effectively to meet business goals. Your role will involve establishing strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment on data strategy and execution. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior team members and sharing your expertise in data engineering practices.
