Affirm is seeking a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join their Servicing International team. You'll focus on building scalable solutions for purchase protection, collaborating closely with global engineering teams. This role requires proficiency in Java and Spring.
You have a solid background in backend engineering, with experience in building scalable production systems. You understand the importance of user experience and are excited about the challenge of launching products in new international markets. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product management, design, and analytics teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Your technical expertise includes proficiency in Java and Spring, and you are familiar with REST API design principles. You are detail-oriented and can break down larger projects into manageable tasks, ensuring timely delivery while considering risks and trade-offs. You are eager to support your peers and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle, contributing to ideation and decision-making processes.
Experience with purchase protection systems or similar domains would be a plus. Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools for project management can enhance your effectiveness in this role. You are open to learning new technologies and adapting to evolving project requirements, demonstrating a growth mindset.
In this role, you will be part of the Servicing International team, focusing on building the foundational platform for Affirm's global expansion. You will collaborate with European engineering counterparts to develop cohesive and scalable solutions for purchase protection, including disputes and refunds. Your work will directly impact user trust and satisfaction, making it a critical part of the customer journey. You will participate in the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to implementation, ensuring that technical constraints are articulated and considered in decision-making. You will also engage in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's development practices.
