SpaceX is hiring a Thin Films Specialist for the Silicon Assembly team to support the Starlink satellite constellation. You'll operate and maintain deposition systems and develop deposition recipes. This role requires experience with thin films and semiconductor technologies.
You have a strong background in thin film deposition techniques, particularly physical vapor deposition (PVD), and understand the intricacies of depositing precise thin films of metals, dielectrics, and semiconductors. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with IC packaging engineers, test engineers, and equipment manufacturers to ensure the quality and reliability of the products you deliver. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you enjoy tackling challenges that have a significant impact on the success of projects like Starlink. You are detail-oriented and capable of optimizing deposition recipes by tuning parameters such as temperature, pressure, and gas flow rates to achieve target film thickness and composition levels.
Experience with in-situ sensors for monitoring process performance is a plus, as is familiarity with integrated circuit packaging and assembly processes. A background in semiconductor manufacturing or related fields will help you excel in this role.
In this role, you will operate and maintain deposition systems, ensuring they function optimally to meet production demands.
