NICE is seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer to manage and maintain production systems, virtualization, and public cloud environments. You'll work with Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, and SAN technologies in Southampton.
You have over 5 years of experience in cloud systems engineering, managing and deploying production environments. Your expertise includes both Windows and Linux server management, and you are comfortable working with Active Directory and virtualization technologies. You thrive in collaborative settings, leading projects across multiple teams and ensuring that systems run smoothly and efficiently.
You possess a strong understanding of public cloud services and have hands-on experience deploying and managing cloud compute and storage solutions. Your ability to monitor and optimize server performance is second nature, and you are adept at maintaining documentation of environments and processes to ensure clarity and efficiency.
You are proactive in troubleshooting issues and have experience working with vendors to resolve problems and manage hardware replacements. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is aligned on project goals and timelines.
Experience with SAN technologies and physical storage management is a plus, as is familiarity with OS-level patching and systems upgrades. You are always looking to expand your skill set and stay updated on the latest technologies in cloud systems engineering.
In this role, you will manage and deploy Windows Domain and Active Directory environments, ensuring that all systems are secure and functioning optimally. You will be responsible for deploying servers and managing public cloud compute and storage, setting up and maintaining server system and file security. Your role will also involve managing lab and production infrastructure, performing OS-level patching, and executing systems and hardware level upgrades.
You will monitor and optimize the performance of servers, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of efficiency and reliability. Your responsibilities will include maintaining documentation of the environment and processes, which is crucial for ongoing operations and future projects. You will collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot problems and manage RMA parts as needed, ensuring that any issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
As a lead on projects across multiple groups, you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of cloud systems engineering at NICE. You will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time and meet the required specifications. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of the team and the organization as a whole.
