LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for their Infrastructure team to lead technical and people management efforts. You'll drive impactful platform changes and collaborate with engineering teams. This role requires 5+ years of experience in engineering management.
You have over 5 years of experience in a formal engineering management role, demonstrating your ability to lead teams effectively while balancing technical leadership with people management. Your background includes modifying and modernizing large-scale infrastructure, which has equipped you with the skills to guide teams through technical tradeoffs and develop the careers of senior engineers. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively. Your thoughtful and empathetic approach to leadership fosters collaboration and a high-performing engineering culture.
Experience with metrics tracking and analysis is a plus, as you understand what they can and can't tell you about team performance and project success. You are comfortable making design and architectural decisions that impact the company, and you have a knack for managing your team's portfolio of work, ensuring that everyone is assigned to the highest priority tasks.
In this role, you will manage the Infrastructure team, driving the development of impactful platform changes that will serve as a foundation for upcoming products. You will work closely with every engineering team, ensuring that they effectively utilize the infrastructure you oversee. Your responsibilities will include guiding product engineering teams in their use of the infrastructure, making design and architectural decisions, and owning the wiring and routing of alerting systems to reduce noise in on-call rotations. You will also be responsible for managing your team's workload, balancing priorities, and ensuring that your team is focused on the most critical tasks.
LaunchDarkly offers a competitive salary range based on geographic zones, with target pay for Level M3 roles in Zone 1 ranging from $214,800 to $295,350, and Zone 2 from $193,400 to $265,870.
