Optery, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Release Manager to lead the product and platform release process across web, backend, and mobile applications. You'll work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders, requiring strong front-end and mobile application development experience, particularly in JavaScript and React.
You have a strong background in engineering release management, with hands-on experience leading product and platform release processes across web, backend, and mobile applications. Your ability to collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders ensures that every release is meticulously planned, tested, documented, and communicated. You possess strong front-end and mobile application development experience, particularly in JavaScript and React, which allows you to understand the technical aspects of the releases you manage. You are detail-oriented and execution-focused, thriving in environments where you can coordinate multiple teams and ensure alignment with business priorities.
You have experience owning release calendars and cadences, keeping them in sync with sprint plans and business priorities. Your participation in sprint planning and backlog grooming confirms that work is properly ticketed, scoped, and sequenced for release. You are proactive in managing release readiness, ensuring that all testing is complete, environments are available, dependencies are resolved, and rollback/mitigation steps are defined. Your QA and testing skills enable you to perform detailed assessments of new releases, providing valuable feedback and resolving issues effectively.
You excel at serving as the day-to-day point of contact for release execution, bridging the gap between engineering, product, marketing, customer-facing, and business teams. Your communication skills ensure that all parties are informed about what is shipping and when. You document and distribute release notes and change communications for internal audiences, ensuring that customer-facing teams have the necessary information for external communication. You are adept at tracking and surfacing release risks, blockers, and post-release issues, supporting troubleshooting with engineering and QA as needed.
You are always looking for ways to propose and implement incremental improvements to the release process, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. Your ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities makes you a valuable asset to the team.
Experience with agile methodologies and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD practices. You may also have a background in project management, which complements your release management skills.
