SpaceX is hiring a TIG Welder for the Heatshield team at Starbase. You'll be responsible for performing GTAW class A welds and collaborating with the lead welder on various welding projects. This position requires skills in welding and fabrication.
You have a foundational understanding of welding techniques and are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. You are detail-oriented and can analyze engineering drawings to plan welding operations effectively. Your ability to collaborate with team members ensures that projects are completed efficiently and accurately. You are committed to safety and understand the importance of handling hazardous materials responsibly. You are adaptable and willing to take on various tasks to support the team.
As a TIG Welder at SpaceX, you will perform GTAW class A welds and be involved in cutting, trimming, fitting, and fabricating metal components to precise dimensions. You will collaborate closely with the lead welder to assess the proper weld procedures and materials for each project. Analyzing engineering drawings will be a key part of your role, allowing you to plan welding operations effectively. You will also be responsible for modifying, repairing, assembling, and installing launch vehicles, ensuring that all work meets the required specifications. Your role will involve communicating effectively with management and engineering staff to achieve build efficiency and streamline work processes. You will handle and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner and set up safety equipment and work platforms at elevation. Operating general shop equipment and vehicles will also be part of your daily responsibilities.
