InsuranceProperty and casualty insurance

Overview

Lyft is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to lead insurance procurement for Rideshare, Bikes & Scooters, and Fleet. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to optimize insurance strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of property and casualty insurance.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong understanding of property and casualty insurance — you can navigate complex insurance landscapes and develop innovative solutions tailored to business needs. Your interpersonal skills are compelling, allowing you to build and maintain relationships with key broker and carrier partners effectively. With 5+ years of experience in risk management, you are well-versed in the full renewal cycle and day-to-day maintenance of insurance programs. You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering with actuarial, claims, and legal teams to ensure optimal outcomes. You are an advocate for cross-company insurance partnerships, ensuring alignment and success across all relevant stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience in managing international insurance programs is a plus — you understand the nuances of different markets and can adapt strategies accordingly. Familiarity with insurance forecasting, planning, and analysis involving new initiatives will set you apart. You are excited about the opportunity to integrate insurance strategies post-acquisition, demonstrating your ability to think strategically and execute effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will manage the strategy and execution of Lyft's insurance procurement for Rideshare, Bikes & Scooters, and Fleet. You will lead the full renewal cycle, ensuring that all insurance programs are maintained effectively and aligned with business objectives. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing post-acquisition insurance integration strategies, establishing relationships with insurance carriers and brokers, and acting as a subject matter expert on insurance matters. You will partner with internal teams to advise on potential risks and coverage requirements, ensuring that Lyft is well-prepared for emerging international risks. Additionally, you will review insurance limits and terms in contractual agreements, providing evidence of insurance when required. Your role will also involve collaborating with stakeholders on insurance forecasting and planning, contributing to Lyft's growth initiatives.

What we offer

Lyft offers a competitive salary range of $118,000 - $147,500, not including potential equity offerings, bonuses, or benefits. We foster a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive. You will be part of a dynamic team committed to innovative insurance solutions that address our business needs. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your unique perspective could be a valuable addition to our team.
