Overview

Google is seeking a Senior Staff UX Program Manager to lead UX-related programs and drive operational efforts across organizations. You'll leverage your expertise in user-centered development tools and methodologies to enhance the UX design process. This role requires 10 years of experience in program management within a design or UX organization.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 10 years of experience managing and scaling UX-related programs. Your background includes driving operational efforts across organizations, and you possess a deep understanding of UX disciplines and user-centered development tools and methodologies. You are skilled in analyzing data and leveraging insights to develop effective solutions. Your experience in program management within a design or UX organization sets you apart, and you have a proven track record of leading geographically distributed teams. You are knowledgeable about the product development lifecycle and stay informed about industry-wide technology trends and issues. Your ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organization is one of your key strengths.

Desirable

Experience with user-centered design principles and methodologies is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest UX tools and technologies. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and efficiency in UX processes. Your leadership skills enable you to manage large, complex programs while fostering a culture of user-centered development across your team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will oversee critical efforts for cross-organizational alignment on UX and partner team structure, strategic priorities, and UX-wide processes. You will manage large, complex programs, ensuring that they are executed efficiently and effectively. Your responsibilities will include establishing key UX metrics that drive a culture of user-centered development across a wide range of program work. You will collaborate closely with UX designers, researchers, and engineers to gather insights about user attitudes, emotions, and behaviors, which will inform design decisions. You will also drive projects within the UX organization by increasing communication and connection points, streamlining the UX design process, and enhancing overall team collaboration.
