Google is seeking a Research Scientist in Coherence Fabrication to lead research initiatives in semiconductor fabrication processes. You'll work with advanced equipment and techniques to develop innovative solutions. This role requires a PhD in a relevant field and experience in a cleanroom environment.
You hold a PhD in Physics, Material Science, or a related field and have at least 2 years of experience leading a research agenda. You have a track record of scientific publications submitted to conferences and journals, showcasing your expertise in the field. Your experience includes developing and sustaining semiconductor fabrication processes in a cleanroom environment, where you have honed your skills in handling complex equipment and methodologies.
You are familiar with multiple semiconductor equipment types, including vacuum systems, dry etch, PVD/CVD, wet etch, and advanced lithography systems. Your background also includes experience with failure analysis techniques such as SEM/EDS, Optical Microscopy, X-Ray, FTIR, and XPS, which are crucial for assessing and improving device performance. You understand the intricacies of micro-fabrication techniques and how they impact quantum device performance, making you a valuable asset to any research team.
As a Research Scientist at Google, you will set up large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. You will create experiments and prototype implementations, designing new architectures that address real-world problems across various domains, including machine learning and hardware performance analysis.
You will identify timelines and obtain the necessary resources to drive your research projects forward.
