Who you are

You have at least 3 years of experience in a controls technician role, showcasing your ability to wire and commission electrical and pneumatic automated control systems. Your background includes building control panels per schematics and modifying existing tooling, demonstrating your hands-on skills in a production environment. You are familiar with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL508A codes, which are essential for ensuring compliance and safety in your work. Your experience working with external vendors to build and install panels highlights your collaborative nature and ability to manage relationships effectively. You are proactive in troubleshooting and repairing existing assets, showing your commitment to maintaining operational efficiency. Your understanding of simple PLC software modification indicates your technical proficiency and readiness to tackle challenges in automation.

What you'll do

As an Automation & Controls Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of new automation assets, ensuring that all systems are operational and meet the required specifications. You will wire and commission electrical and pneumatic automated control systems, which are critical for the functionality of our operations. Your role will involve building control panels according to schematics, requiring precision and attention to detail. You will also modify and update existing tooling, ensuring that our systems remain efficient and effective. Occasionally, you will assist maintenance teams with troubleshooting and repairs of existing assets, contributing to the overall reliability of our operations. Daily communication with engineering, customers, and other teams will be essential as you promote 5S principles to maintain organized and efficient workspaces. Your ability to perform early risk mitigation will be crucial in ensuring the success of installations and the smooth operation of automated systems.
