Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, or possess equivalent practical experience. With at least 3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP, you have a solid understanding of system design operations methodology. You have worked closely with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment, showcasing your ability to collaborate effectively in diverse teams. Your experience includes field physical installation or network deployment, which has equipped you with the practical skills necessary for this role.

You have a strong background in one or more of the following disciplines: layer 1 optical transmission systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations. This expertise allows you to contribute meaningfully to the standardization of network deployment processes and best practices. You are detail-oriented and committed to building reliable, cost-effective, and scalable networks that support current and future customers and users globally.

What you'll do

As a Network Implementation Engineer on the NES team, you will be the initial point of our efforts to execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. You will collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors. Your role will involve facilitating faster, better, and more efficient outcomes for the business and our customers.

You will drive projects related to the standardization of our physical infrastructure and the way network delivery implementation (NDI) is conducted. This includes assembling all tasks in turn-up workflows and representing the team in NPIs for active and passive devices. You will partner with teams across the organization to ensure successful NPI and standardize team-related technical documentation in NDL and Google enterprise support (GES) or guided install task libraries.

Your objective will be to build the world’s most reliable, cost-effective, and scalable network. You will set network deployment standards and work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that all deployment task instructions are standardized and effectively communicated. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our network services, ultimately enhancing the experience for our customers.
