Curatorial: Photography Intern

Who you are

You are an enthusiastic individual eager to gain experience in the art world, particularly in curatorial practices related to photography. You possess solid academic research skills and are familiar with bibliographic citation, which will aid you in your tasks. Your excellent organizational and communication skills will help you thrive in a collaborative environment. You are willing to learn standard office practices, including formal letter writing, bookkeeping, and filing, and you are comfortable working in a PC environment with Microsoft Office software suites.

What you'll do

As a Curatorial Photography Intern at SFMOMA, you will assist the photography department in various tasks, including conducting research on contemporary photography and its historical context. You will help organize and maintain the photography collection, ensuring that all works are properly documented and accessible. Your role will involve collaborating with curators and other staff members to support exhibitions and educational programs. You will also have the opportunity to engage with artists and learn about the processes involved in curating photography exhibitions.
