This role requires 15 years of experience in FP&A and a strong understanding of advanced analytics techniques.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent practical experience, along with 15 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A). Your background includes successfully scaling a corporate FP&A or strategic finance function at a fast-paced, high-growth enterprise technology company. You possess knowledge of advanced analytics techniques and capabilities, demonstrating a track record of pushing the boundaries of data to develop novel approaches that shed new light on difficult questions. Your understanding of Google Cloud products is strong, and you have a proven ability to partner with executive stakeholders to define analytical requirements and priorities, develop and execute strategy, and balance short- versus long-term deliverables. You thrive in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, making you an ideal fit for this role.

Desirable

Experience in the public sector or with government institutions would be a plus, as would familiarity with investment decisions and operational metrics analysis. You are adept at leading teams and have a strategic mindset that allows you to navigate complex financial landscapes effectively.

What you'll do

As the Senior Director of Finance and Planning for Google Cloud, you will build and lead a team responsible for the Google Cloud Public Sector long-range and annual operating plans. Your role will involve financial metrics reporting and strategic finance initiatives, including M&A analysis and financial integration. You will be responsible for planning, generating, and delivering business insights to develop and review business plans that support investment decisions. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing and analyzing financial and operational results, developing insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, and cost reduction, and leading strategic business decisions. You will perform ad hoc analysis, including revenue and gross margin trends, headcount and hiring status, operating expense trends, and other operational metrics, ensuring that the financial health of the organization is maintained and enhanced.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a team that brings the magic of technology to the mission of government and education. We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments to meet the complex needs of local, state, and federal government and educational institutions. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that values innovation and strategic thinking, contributing to meaningful projects that impact public sector institutions across the country. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
