Roku is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Roku TV program. You'll work on partner SOC board bring-up, third-party API integration, and Roku OS feature development. This role requires expertise in Java, C++, and embedded systems.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in developing and maintaining embedded systems. Your background includes working with various programming languages, especially Java and C++, and you have a solid understanding of embedded Linux environments. You thrive in collaborative settings and enjoy tackling complex challenges that come with developing software for smart TVs. You are detail-oriented and have a strong focus on quality, ensuring that the software you develop meets high standards of performance and reliability.
You are familiar with the entire product development lifecycle, from initial design through to deployment and maintenance. Your experience includes integrating third-party APIs and working closely with hardware teams to ensure seamless functionality. You are comfortable with debugging and troubleshooting issues that arise during development and are proactive in finding solutions. You understand the importance of scalability and have experience designing systems that can grow with user demand.
Experience with Roku OS or similar streaming platforms is a plus. Familiarity with partner SOC board bring-up processes will set you apart. You have a passion for television technology and a keen interest in how software can enhance user experiences. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies, and you enjoy sharing your knowledge with team members.
In this role, you will support the Roku New Products Team by working on the Roku TV program. Your responsibilities will include partner SOC board bring-up, where you will collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure that the software integrates smoothly with the hardware. You will also be involved in third-party API integration, ensuring that our platform can connect with various content providers and services.
You will contribute to Roku OS feature development, working on new functionalities that enhance the user experience. This includes maintaining existing code and implementing new features based on user feedback and market trends. You will support the QA and Channel certification teams, ensuring that all software meets rigorous testing standards before release.
Your role will require you to design scalability solutions to help onboard new factories, ensuring that our production processes can handle increased demand. You will participate in end-to-end product development and release cycles, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software on time.
