Amazon Retail Finance seeks an analytical, results-oriented Senior Finance Manager to lead the Consumables finance team for Japan. “Finance” in Amazon has similarities to 経営企画室・経営戦略本部 in Japanese companies in which you own a wide variety of planning and analysis responsibilities.
In this role, you will lead the financial strategy and controllership for Amazon Japan's Consumables division, encompassing Grocery, Health and Personal Care, Pet products, Beauty, and Wine categories. This role oversees complete P&L management, including controllership, analysis, planning, forecasting, and reporting. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the financial strategy of Amazon Japan's Consumables business while working with innovative teams to enhance customer experience.
As Senior Finance Manager, you are expected to work with JP Stores leadership team as a thought partner and play a key role in supporting the growth of the business. In doing so, the individual will identify and implement processes to evaluate our investments feeding into long term business strategies. You will be responsible for supporting finance and business leadership in providing data driven insights to develop and execute financial strategies, helping to establish an appropriate framework of controls and key metrics, and building and leading a high performing finance team. This individual will have exceptional Finance and Accounting skills, strong leadership skills and should be a thought leader and be comfortable influencing business decisions with data.
A successful candidate will be skilled at partnering with stakeholders across the business and financial spectrum, juggling multiple deliverables, communicating clearly and concisely with leaders and peers. They will be comfortable thinking big and diving deep and be a proven cross-functional leader. Key job responsibilities
• Partner with JP Stores leadership to drive data-driven decision-making and long-term growth
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
• Provide strategic financial analysis and insights for executive decisions
• Manage end-to-end financial processes, including monthly, quarterly, annual close and planning cycles
• Support new customer experience initiatives
• Implement processes to evaluate investments and business strategies
• Establish control frameworks and key metrics
- Bachelor’s degree required in finance, accounting, economics, business or related field
- 10+ years of work experience excluding internship periods
- Strong track record of strategic business partnership
- Experience with managing team and developing talent
- Proficiency in analysis tools including Microsoft Excel and financial planning systems
- Business English language proficiency (written and oral communication)
- Business Japanese language proficiency (written and oral communication)- MBA Preferred
- Highly motivated, organized individual who is able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, growing and ambiguous environment
- Proven ability to manage a team including prioritization of diverse priorities
- Experience with understanding complex process flows and driving process improvements
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
