Benchling is seeking a Software Engineer for their Scientific Models team to build a scalable platform for scientific AI models. You'll work with technologies like Python and Java, focusing on model inference and architecture. This role requires experience in software engineering and machine learning.
You have a strong background in software engineering with experience in building scalable systems — you've contributed to projects that require high reliability and performance. Your expertise in Python and Java allows you to develop robust applications that meet the needs of scientific research. You are familiar with machine learning concepts and have a keen interest in applying AI to solve complex problems in biotechnology. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with scientists to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions. You are adaptable and open to experimenting with new technologies and methodologies to enhance the platform's capabilities. You have a problem-solving mindset and are driven by curiosity to explore innovative approaches in your work.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus, as you will be involved in deploying and managing applications in containerized environments. A background in data analysis or computational biology can also be beneficial as you work on integrating AI models into the platform.
