Job Description

Who you are

You have a background in mechanical engineering with a focus on fluid systems and structures — your experience includes analyzing, designing, and building systems that support testing of integrated flight vehicles and rocket components. You thrive in hands-on environments where your engineering skills are put to the test, and you are eager to contribute to innovative projects that push the boundaries of technology. You are comfortable working with high-pressure systems and have a strong understanding of fluid dynamics. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with others to solve complex engineering challenges. You are adaptable and ready to take on new responsibilities as projects evolve, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Desirable

Experience with cryogenic systems or high-pressure gas systems is a plus — familiarity with rocket propulsion systems will set you apart. You have a passion for aerospace engineering and a desire to contribute to the mission of making life multi-planetary. You are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to make data-driven decisions in your engineering work.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for the cradle-to-grave ownership of engineering projects — this includes conducting design reviews, justifying decisions, and procuring equipment necessary for testing. You will analyze and design fluid and mechanical systems that power and measure rocket engines, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of testing programs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance the performance and reliability of rocket hardware. Your role will involve hands-on work, where you will see the hardware you designed being built and installed in real-time. You will also participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving during testing phases, contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and systems.

What we offer

At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team that is dedicated to advancing space exploration — you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to projects that have a significant impact on humanity's future. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and creativity. You will have access to professional development opportunities and the chance to grow your career within a leading aerospace company. Join us in our mission to make life multi-planetary and be part of a team that is shaping the future of space travel.
