Google is hiring a Software Engineer to enhance the TypeScript and JavaScript ecosystem across major products like Search, Gmail, and YouTube. You'll work with advanced JavaScript features and contribute to developer tools. This position requires 2 years of software development experience.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development using programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, and JavaScript. Your background includes a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, either in an academic or industry setting. You possess proficiency in advanced JavaScript features and browser compatibility, and you have experience building developer tools. A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred, but not mandatory. You are eager to support the latest in JavaScript standards and TypeScript features, ensuring exceptional optimizations that are safe, fast, and easy to implement at every scale.
In this role, you will be responsible for the TypeScript and JavaScript languages, libraries, and tooling across google3. Your work will encompass everything from the smallest web applications to major products like Gmail, Web Search, and YouTube. You will implement improvements and features for the TypeScript and JavaScript compilers, write design documents, and author and review change lists (CLs). You will also contribute to shared team responsibilities, helping Google web developers build products using our tooling. Your contributions will directly impact the developer experience and the overall quality of Google's web products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the tools and features you develop meet the needs of developers across the organization.
Google offers a competitive salary range for this full-time position, with a base salary between $141,000 and $202,000, plus bonuses, equity, and benefits. You will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and collaboration, and you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most important web products in the world.
