Overview

Hermeus is seeking a Lead, Ground Segment to deliver mission-ready ground systems for high-speed aircraft. This role requires technical leadership and hands-on execution in a collaborative environment.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering and systems integration, with experience in delivering complex ground systems for mission-critical operations. Your technical expertise allows you to lead teams effectively while remaining hands-on in the execution of projects. You understand the importance of collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Department of Defense, to ensure that systems meet operational requirements and maintain high standards of readiness.

As a first-level people leader, you excel in mentoring and guiding engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability within your team. You are adept at managing multiple priorities and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences is one of your key strengths.

You are passionate about the aerospace industry and understand the unique challenges associated with high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft development. Your commitment to maintaining an asymmetric advantage for your nation and allies drives your work and inspires those around you.

Desirable

Experience with ground control systems, operator interfaces, and mission planning tools is a plus. Familiarity with aerospace engineering principles and defense contracting processes will enhance your ability to contribute effectively in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of mission-ready ground systems that enable operators to plan, command, and assess missions from start to finish. You will own the ground control station and ensure that all supporting systems are integrated and operationally ready. Your leadership will guide engineers in the development of tools and systems that enhance mission execution without limiting test or flight tempo.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure that ground systems meet the needs of operators. Your hands-on approach will involve working directly with engineers to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and implement improvements. You will also be responsible for overseeing the integration of new technologies and methodologies into existing systems to enhance capabilities.

As a leader, you will conduct regular team meetings to assess progress, address challenges, and celebrate successes. You will provide feedback and support to team members, helping them to grow in their roles and develop their skills. Your ability to foster a positive team environment will be crucial in achieving project goals and maintaining high morale.

What we offer

Hermeus offers a dynamic work environment where innovation and collaboration are at the forefront of our mission. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that has a direct impact on national security and defense capabilities. We value the contributions of our team members and provide opportunities for professional development and growth.

We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Join us in our mission to revolutionize air travel and maintain our nation's strategic advantage.
