You have a strong background in tax compliance, particularly in US Sales and Use Tax, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. You are detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical skills, allowing you to manage complex tax filings across multiple jurisdictions effectively. Your experience includes hands-on preparation and review of compliance filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all submissions. You are comfortable coordinating with third-party service providers and have a solid understanding of tax accounting and reconciliation processes.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to solve unique challenges. Your ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals is a key strength. You are proactive in identifying potential issues and implementing solutions to enhance compliance processes. You are also familiar with tax calculation engines such as Vertex or Avalara, which aids in your ability to execute data uploads and perform initial testing of system updates.
Experience with tax software and systems is a plus, as is familiarity with audit support processes. You may have a background in accounting or finance, which complements your tax expertise. A certification in tax or accounting would be advantageous, but not mandatory. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies that can improve tax compliance and reporting.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the daily US Sales and Use Tax function at Angi. You will prepare and review monthly and quarterly tax returns, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional deadlines. Managing a detailed tax filing calendar will be crucial to your success, as you will coordinate with third-party service providers for data exchange and review of prepared returns. Your role will also involve executing data uploads and reconciling reports to maintain accuracy in tax calculations.
You will actively participate in system testing and updates to the tax calculation engine, ensuring that all changes are thoroughly vetted before implementation. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you perform tax accounting and reconciliation, identifying discrepancies and resolving them promptly. You will also support audit processes, providing necessary documentation and insights to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
At Angi, we offer a competitive year-end performance bonus and equity package, along with a full medical, dental, and vision benefits package tailored to your needs. Our flexible vacation policy allows you to work hard while also taking the time you need to recharge.
