Job Description

The Program Manager, Category Marketing role sits on the Worldwide Grocery Marketing team. This team member will work in close partnership with category merchants and internal marketing teams to define, execute and measure events, programs and related category marketing initiatives and promotions across multiple Grocery organizations including Whole Foods Market. This team member must be a meticulous executor and capable of managing multiple projects within a fast-paced environment. It will be imperative that this team member have strong business acumen, sound customer understanding and possess strong knowledge of retail marketing.

Key job responsibilities
* Own events and programs from brief creation to go-to-market for assigned categories and events, demonstrating strong Ownership and Bias for Action.
* Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with the broader retail marketing team across WWGS and Whole Foods Market.
* Define and communicate category program objectives, strategies, requirements, and updates to key stakeholder groups using data-driven insights.
* Partner with internal merchandising, channel and creative teams to ensure program marketing plans deliver on objectives and strategies while maintaining Customer Obsession.
* Ensure accuracy across all event, promotion, and category marketing deliverables and assets, demonstrating high standards and attention to detail.
* Work closely with analytic teams to translate insights into action and report on program performance using Amazon's data visualization and analytics tools.
* Support the execution of other related promotion and category marketing efforts for assigned categories.
* Serve as a steward and champion for Retail Marketing efforts with internal and external teams.
* Support other projects, as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and Dive Deep mentality.

Skills:

* Strong business acumen and a proven track record of delivering results through high-impact marketing programs, demonstrating Amazon's Leadership Principles of Deliver Results and Think Big.
* Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence in all facets of your work, embodying Amazon's Insist on the Highest Standards principle.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in Amazon's narrative-driven culture and document formats.
* Capable of evaluating creative with good eye for customer-facing copy and design, always maintaining Customer Obsession.
* Experience with Amazon's retail marketing systems and tools (e.g., Retail Analytics, Marketing Cloud, A/B testing frameworks) preferred.
* Curious and highly engaged in the work and team. Inquisitive, resourceful, and proactive, demonstrating Learn and Be Curious.
* Collaborative and have demonstrated success in building cross-functional partnerships and earning trust across Amazon's organizational boundaries.
* Ownership of your projects, programs, and steps in to help others when needed, embodying Amazon's Ownership principle.
* Agility and the ability to prioritize and multitask across various projects and workstreams in Amazon's fast-paced environment.
* Experience with Amazon's working backwards methodology, including creating PR/FAQs and 6-pager documents.
* Familiarity with Amazon's grocery ecosystem including online grocery, physical stores, and Whole Foods Market integration points.

- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- 3+ years of marketing experience with emphasis on physical retail marketing or partner marketing experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience- Experience working with a Content Management System (e.g. Wordpress, Drupla, Joomla, etc.)
- Experience using integrated campaigns to solve brand/business challenges
- Experience working for Amazon or any Amazon subsidiary or affiliate, or experience with executive level calendar management
- Understanding of Amazon's grocery customer segments and shopping behaviors preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $54,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $116,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
