You have a Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, with a strong background in machine learning and robotics. You possess experience in providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers, guiding them through complex projects and fostering their professional growth. Your analytical skills allow you to investigate driving behavior issues effectively, understanding root causes and implementing solutions. You are adept at improving the performance of state-of-the-art ML models, ensuring they meet the high standards required for autonomous driving applications. You have a passion for developing foundational frameworks that advance the capabilities of autonomous systems while maintaining interpretability and behavioral guarantees. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
Experience with large-scale machine learning systems and a deep understanding of the challenges involved in autonomous driving technology would be advantageous. Familiarity with software development best practices and tools is also a plus, as is a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership for the development of machine learning models specifically for Planner Selection, ensuring that the models are robust and reliable. Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $238,000—$302,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
