Amazon is seeking Maintenance Technicians - Night Shift to join our Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team at our Delivery Station in Mulgrave, Melbourne.
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll keep our site operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing material handling equipment, automated packaging, and distribution machinery. You’ll respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and implement long-term improvements to reduce downtime.
This is a permanent night shift position working on a 4-day roster (10-hour shifts) and is entitled to annual leave, penalty rates and night shift loading where applicable.
Here is what you can expect for the selection and recruitment process for our technician roles:
1. After submitting your application, you’ll receive an email invitation to complete a short online assessment designed to showcase your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
2. Our recruiting team will review your application and assessment results and if successful, you’ll be contacted to interview with the hiring manager. This interview will explore your technical experience, problem-solving approach, and alignment with Amazon’s Leadership Principles.
3. In the final stage, you’ll complete interviews with two Amazonians, focused on technical capability, problem-solving, leadership behaviors using Amazon’s unique interview framework. Final outcome will be shared within 5 business days.

- Complete proactive and preventative maintenance on site equipment
- Diagnose and repair equipment faults in a live warehouse environment
- Implement long-term solutions to reduce future downtime
- Use specialized tools to maximize equipment effectiveness
- Follow and promote Health & Safety standards
- Formal Trade Qualifications: Certificate lll in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license or Cert lll in Engineering OR Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner). Alternatively, equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia.
- Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
- Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems
- Ability to read and understand electrical /mechanical drawings
- Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
- Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations- Experience with CMMS systems
- Experience with sortation machines
- Experience with maintaining/configuring bar code scanners
- Experience with print and apply machines
