Overview

Relativity is seeking a Senior Fluids Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver fluid systems for their Terran R rocket. You'll work on propellant, pressurant, and pneumatics systems, contributing to innovative aerospace solutions. This role requires expertise in mechanical engineering principles and a passion for aerospace technology.

You have a strong background in mechanical engineering with a focus on fluid systems — your experience includes designing and analyzing complex fluid dynamics and thermodynamics. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of fluid systems into larger mechanical structures. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, allowing you to tackle challenges that arise during the design and production phases. You are detail-oriented and understand the importance of precision in aerospace applications, ensuring that all systems meet rigorous safety and performance standards.

Desirable

Experience with aerospace applications is a plus, as is familiarity with CAD software for modeling and simulation. You may have worked on projects involving rocket propulsion or similar high-stakes environments, giving you insights into the unique challenges of the aerospace industry. A passion for innovation and a desire to contribute to groundbreaking technologies will set you apart.

What you'll do

As a Senior Fluids Mechanical Engineer at Relativity, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of fluid systems that are critical to the operation of the Terran R rocket. This includes working on propellant and pressurant systems, as well as pneumatics. You will collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure that your designs integrate seamlessly with the overall rocket architecture. Your role will involve conducting simulations and analyses to validate your designs, as well as overseeing the production and testing phases to ensure that all systems function as intended.

You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during testing, using your expertise to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
