Overview

Google is hiring a Data Center Technician to perform assembly, repairs, and troubleshooting of technical equipment. You'll work with operating systems, computer/server hardware, and networking protocols in Pryor Creek, OK.

Job Description

Who you are

You have experience with the assembly of mechanical or electrical systems, or performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment. You are skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer/server hardware, or networking protocols. You possess the physical ability to lift and move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and can exert yourself physically over extended periods, including frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling, and lifting. You are flexible and can work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, and holidays as required.

You may have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, and you have completed the online Google IT Support Professional Certificate program. With at least 2 years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems and computer/server hardware or networking protocols, you are familiar with performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on IT equipment or in a similar role, such as Systems Administration or Help Desk Technician. You have experience working within a data center or network operation center environment and can collaborate effectively with teams to overcome challenges.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Technician at Google, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and testing various technical equipment. You will monitor the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure that supports Google's powerful search technology. Your role will involve diagnosing and troubleshooting issues related to operating systems, computer/server hardware, and networking protocols. You will also perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure based on identified issues with defined solutions and limited guidance.

You will work in a team setting to disassemble specific equipment that has reached its end-of-life via part replacement or maintenance. Your responsibilities will include repairing and fixing equipment, ensuring that all security issues are handled in accordance with Google security standards. You will collaborate with other technicians and engineers to ensure the smooth operation of the data center, adapting to changes in a dynamic work environment.
