Optiver is seeking an Experienced Quantitative Researcher to join their D1 Trading Team, focusing on developing and executing automated trading strategies powered by Machine Learning. This role requires 5+ years of quantitative research experience and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java.
You have over 5 years of quantitative research experience on a successful futures or equities trading team — you've developed profitable trading strategies that span from intra-day to several days' holding periods. Your background includes computationally intensive research, and you hold a BS, MS, or PhD in a quantitative or technical field.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C, Python, and Java is essential — you understand how to leverage these languages to enhance trading algorithms and optimize research workflows. You are a highly collaborative team player who values diverse perspectives and builds strong partnerships within your team.
As a self-starter, you take initiative and set ambitious goals — you proactively identify opportunities for impact and contribute to strategic discussions that shape the future direction of the business. Your ability to solve complex problems and refine trading strategies is a key asset to your team.
Experience in developing models to enhance predictions and improve trading algorithms is a plus — you are motivated by a passion for continuous improvement and thrive in a supportive, high-performing environment.
In this role, you will conduct alpha, signal, and feature research, developing models that enhance predictions and improve trading algorithms. You will collaborate with peers to review research and refine trading strategies, ensuring that your contributions directly shape the research and execution pipeline.
Your responsibilities will include optimizing research workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness — you will play a key role in developing, improving, and executing fully automated trading strategies powered by Machine Learning. You will also contribute to strategic discussions, helping to shape the future direction of the business.
You will be part of a high-impact, collaborative team where your insights and expertise will be valued — your work will directly influence the success of the trading strategies employed by Optiver. You will engage in discussions that drive the business forward and ensure that your team's efforts align with the company's goals.
At Optiver, you will join a culture of collaboration and excellence, surrounded by curious thinkers and creative problem-solvers. You will have access to a work-from-home allowance and support, with location-agnostic opportunities within APAC for the right candidate. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and welcome requests for reasonable adjustments during the process. Join us and thrive in a supportive environment where your contributions make a significant impact.
