Amazon is hiring a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to support the operations of their data centers. You'll monitor critical infrastructure systems and assist in troubleshooting facility events. This role requires a foundational understanding of AWS and related technologies.
You are an entry-level technician eager to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting the operations of some of the world’s most powerful data centers. You have a foundational understanding of AWS and are ready to learn and grow in your role. You are detail-oriented and capable of performing daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability. You are comfortable with technical writing to support change management programs and can assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) is a plus, as is familiarity with performing rack installs and decommissioning. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with others to implement the newest technology and work practices to meet the demands of a changing market.
In this role, you will be responsible for daily monitoring of critical infrastructure systems, ensuring they are prepared to stand up against any situation. You will assist in troubleshooting events and perform preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring daily work requests and managing them to resolution, ensuring that all tasks are completed within the established SLAs. You will work closely with teams of front-line responders, contributing to the overall safety and security of the data centers.
