Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.

Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in environments where you can apply your technical skills to maintain and troubleshoot critical infrastructure. Your experience includes working with diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and various cooling systems, ensuring that mission-critical facilities operate seamlessly. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys hands-on work and collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists.

Desirable

Experience with data center operations or similar environments is a plus — familiarity with AWS infrastructure services will help you excel in this role. You are comfortable working with complex systems and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that every component functions optimally. You are eager to learn and grow within the organization, contributing to the overall success of the team.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical and mechanical systems that support our data centers — your role is crucial in ensuring that our facilities achieve an extraordinary 99.999% uptime. You will work hands-on with equipment such as stand-by diesel generators, switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and cooling systems, including centrifugal chillers and air handlers. Your expertise will directly contribute to the operational efficiency of our mission-critical facilities, allowing us to provide uninterrupted service to our customers.

You will collaborate closely with a team of engineers and specialists, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance the overall performance of our data centers. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment failures promptly. You will also document your findings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that our operations remain at the forefront of technology.
