Senior Backend Engineer (Remote) - Brazil

Who you are

You are a highly talented and driven software engineer with a strong passion for solving problems with code. You take pride in your work and have experience in backend engineering, particularly with Kotlin and PostgreSQL. You enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to deliver effective solutions that meet both internal and external customer needs. You have a track record of mentoring junior engineers, helping them grow in their careers while ensuring that the services managed by your team align with the overall engineering strategy of the organization.

You have experience designing technical solutions to business problems and contributing to an architectural vision that scales effectively. You are comfortable shipping working code and have familiarity with deploying applications using CI/CD tools like CircleCI and Spinnaker. You are eager to learn and grow in a high-performance environment, utilizing available resources to fast-track your development.

Desirable

You have experience with older services written in Ruby on Rails and are open to assessing new technologies that could improve the tech stack. You understand the importance of gathering feedback quickly to inform your next iterations and are committed to delivering high-quality code that meets user needs.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take ownership of the services managed by your team, ensuring their development aligns with AlphaSights' engineering strategy. You will design solutions that define the best technical approaches to business challenges, contributing to an architectural vision that aims to create the world's leading research platform. You will ship working code primarily using Kotlin for backend microservices and React for frontend development, ensuring that your contributions are impactful and efficient.

You will work closely with product managers and designers to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your role will involve deploying and iterating on solutions, releasing frequently to customers, and gathering feedback to inform future development. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and helping them navigate their career paths in software engineering.
