Who you are

You have a strong background in environmental health and safety, with experience in providing technical support to manufacturing teams. Your expertise includes installing and integrating PLC hardware, calibrating EHS instrumentation, and executing industrial hygiene studies to ensure compliance with health standards. You are skilled in conducting hazard analyses and are familiar with consensus agency standards such as NIOSH and ANSI. Your proactive approach to safety includes monitoring air filtration efficacy and performing preventative maintenance on EHS equipment. You have a track record of documenting job hazard assessments and conducting safety inspections to mitigate risks effectively.

What you'll do

As an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist at SpaceX, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our satellite manufacturing teams by providing technical EHS expertise. Your responsibilities will include installing air monitoring devices and integrating PLC hardware to ensure compliance with safety standards. You will conduct industrial hygiene studies to analyze manufacturing byproducts and assess their impact on human health. Your role will also involve designing and deploying high-resolution EHS signage throughout SpaceX locations to enhance safety awareness.

You will qualify personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements through in-depth hazard analysis and review of consensus agency standards. Monitoring air filtration efficacy and performing scheduled preventative maintenance will be key aspects of your role, ensuring that our work environment remains safe and compliant. You will document job hazard assessments and perform safety inspections, addressing any deficiencies to mitigate risks effectively.

In addition, you will conduct incident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions, playing an active role in emergency response planning. Facilitating employee classroom safety training will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all team members are well-informed about safety protocols and procedures.
