Senior Software Engineer - Databases

Who you are

You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in building and maintaining production systems. Your background includes a strong focus on databases and data pipelines, and you are comfortable diving deep into complex investigations related to data replication. You are enthusiastic about learning and applying the key values that make Fivetran's product great, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can connect with your team.

Your expertise includes deep knowledge of Java and SQL, and you have experience with various database technologies such as MySQL. You are familiar with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and you understand how to leverage cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP to enhance system performance and reliability. You are a problem solver who enjoys debugging and analyzing complex issues, and you have a keen interest in software architecture and design.

Desirable

Experience with Bazel and Grafana is a plus, as is familiarity with building ELT solutions. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the data pipeline service. You value collaboration and are eager to contribute to a team that is dedicated to making data access as simple and reliable as electricity.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing new features for Fivetran's data pipeline service. You will own the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to prototyping and implementation. Your work will involve debugging and analyzing complex replication issues, ensuring that the service operates reliably for hundreds of customers. You will collaborate closely with other engineers to improve the software architecture and maintain the overall health of the system.

You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that directly impact the way organizations leverage data. Your contributions will help enhance the capabilities of the data pipeline, making it easier for customers to access and utilize their data effectively.
