Microsoft is hiring a Senior Data Center Inventory and Asset Technician to manage inventory processes and coordinate deliveries. This role requires expertise in inventory management and warranty processes.
You have a strong background in inventory management principles and are familiar with warranty process management. Your experience includes performing cycle audits and executing incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring that all processes are documented accurately. You understand the importance of data bearing device destruction and are committed to maintaining security protocols when coordinating with third-party vendors.
You are detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational skills, which enable you to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members and external partners is crucial in ensuring smooth operations within the data center environment. In this role, you will perform cycle audits to ensure accurate inventory levels and execute incoming and outgoing deliveries as per management instructions. You will coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with security protocols. Documenting inbound and outbound deliveries will be a key responsibility, as will initiating warranty claims and processing returns on failed equipment.
You will work closely with the Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, contributing to the foundational technologies that support Microsoft’s online services. Your role will be vital in maintaining the integrity of the data center's inventory and asset management processes, which are essential for the smooth operation of services like Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure.
