Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Vehicle Engineering to architect AI-driven systems that enhance engineering and production workflows. You'll work with technologies like AI and Machine Learning to support the rapid launch rate of Falcon & Dragon vehicles.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in aerospace or related fields, where you've successfully integrated AI technologies into engineering processes. Your background includes a strong understanding of vehicle engineering principles and the ability to bridge the gap between classical aerospace engineering and modern software development. You are proficient in programming languages such as Python and have experience with AI frameworks and tools. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and efficiency. You possess excellent problem-solving skills and are comfortable making architectural decisions that impact multiple disciplines. You are passionate about leveraging technology to improve safety and reliability in aerospace applications.

Desirable

Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their application in engineering workflows would be a significant advantage. Familiarity with data analysis, simulation, and automation tools is also beneficial. A background in developing AI-driven systems for manufacturing or production environments would enhance your candidacy.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer in Vehicle Engineering at SpaceX, you will lead the development of AI-driven systems that revolutionize engineering and production workflows. You will collaborate with teams across Propulsion, Structures, Dynamics, GNC, Avionics, and adjacent production and supply chain groups to create a cohesive, AI-enabled ecosystem. Your role will involve architecting systems that utilize AI to enhance data analysis, simulation, and decision-making processes, ultimately supporting the rapid launch rate of Falcon & Dragon vehicles. You will guide architectural decisions and foster the adoption of AI technologies across various engineering disciplines. Your work will directly contribute to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars by improving the efficiency and reliability of launch vehicle operations.
