Studio Production Manager

About the role

We are building HackerRank’s first content studio in Bangalore, and we’re looking for someone who can run it end-to-end.

This is a dual technical–creative operations role where you will own the studio environment, manage equipment, coordinate shoots, work with internal and external stakeholders, and guide a distributed team of external editors.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping how HackerRank tells stories: from leadership conversations to product explainers, customer narratives, community content, and event videos.

What you’ll do

• Operate and manage studio equipment including cameras, multi-cam setups, microphones, lighting rigs, and recording systems.
• Set up the studio for every shoot: lighting, framing, sound checks, and ensuring a polished, ready-to-record environment.
• Oversee recording quality for both video and audio across interviews, explainers, and marketing content.
• Maintain a robust organisation system for recorded footage, backups, data security, versioning, and cross-team sharing.
• Manage shoot logistics including scheduling with internal teams, coordinating calendars, and ensuring smooth pre- and post-production workflows.
• Lead and coordinate external video editors across multiple projects, ensuring consistency in quality, timelines, and creative direction.
• Provide creative and technical guidance to external editors to deliver high-fidelity final outputs.

Who you are

• Someone with hands-on studio production experience who feels at home behind the camera and managing the entire setup.
• A person who loves order, structure, and smooth operations: from calendar alignment to cable management.
• Comfortable working with multi-camera workflows, studio lighting techniques, and audio recording fundamentals.
• Someone who understands editing enough to guide but doesn’t need to be the primary editor.
• Strong communicator who can work with multiple stakeholders across marketing, design, leadership, and product.
• Calm, solution-oriented, and grounded: especially on shoot days.

Even better if you have

Experience in agency or in-house studio environments.Portfolio with interview setups, corporate films, product explainers, or podcast-style productions.Experience working with outsourced editors or creatives.Understanding of color profiles, LUTs, file formats, and codecs.Familiarity with studio automation tools or multi-cam switchers.A background in cinematography or visual storytelling.
