Microsoft is hiring a Principal Civil/Geotech Engineer to oversee civil and geotechnical engineering for data center projects. You'll engage with stakeholders and ensure design quality standards are met. This role requires expertise in AutoCAD and Azure.
You have extensive experience in civil and geotechnical engineering, with a strong focus on data center design and construction. Your background includes serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in civil and geotechnical disciplines, and you are adept at engaging with various stakeholders, including authorities and external consultants. You possess a deep understanding of design development, construction administration, and site due diligence, which enables you to provide technical direction and oversight effectively. You are committed to fostering an inclusive work environment and positively impacting company culture.
Experience with large-scale data center projects is a plus, as is familiarity with Microsoft’s design and quality standards. You are comfortable navigating complex regulatory environments and have a proven track record of delivering innovative engineering solutions.
In this role, you will lead the civil and geotechnical engineering efforts for Microsoft’s data center projects across the APAC region. You will be responsible for the programming and design development phases, ensuring that all designs meet Microsoft’s high standards for quality and efficiency. Your role will involve collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate the successful delivery of projects. You will oversee construction administration and renovations, providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, you will engage in master planning and operations-related design support, ensuring that all engineering practices align with industry best practices.
