Microsoft is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the Azure Core organization, focusing on building foundational infrastructure for their cloud platform. You'll work with Azure technologies and systems engineering to enhance capacity and scalability. This role requires significant experience in cloud infrastructure.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in cloud infrastructure and systems engineering. Your background includes working with foundational technologies that support large-scale cloud platforms, and you are familiar with the intricacies of virtualized computational layers and automated service management systems. You understand the importance of capacity management and have experience in developing scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
You possess a strong understanding of data analytics and how it can be leveraged to improve service management and operational processes. Your technical expertise allows you to contribute effectively to the development of resource provisioning ecosystems that ensure secure and efficient operations within cloud environments. You are a collaborative team player who thrives in environments that encourage innovation and growth.
Experience with Azure services and infrastructure is a plus, as is familiarity with automated provisioning and de-provisioning processes. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to tackle complex challenges that come with managing cloud capacity.
In this role, you will be instrumental in building and enhancing the foundational infrastructure of Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop a Capacity Infrastructure Services (CIS) platform that automates hardware provisioning and de-provisioning, ensuring that Microsoft services can manage capacity consistently and securely. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability and flexibility of one of the fastest-growing cloud platforms in the industry.
You will engage in the full capacity lifecycle, from demand forecasting to hardware decommissioning, ensuring that the infrastructure can adapt to changing needs. Your role will involve developing solutions that enhance the efficiency of datacenter operations and improve overall service management processes. You will also be responsible for implementing end-to-end data analytics solutions that provide insights into capacity management and operational performance.
