SpaceX is seeking an RF Engineer for the Starshield team to develop advanced RF capabilities for national security. You'll collaborate with hardware, DSP, and software engineers to design and validate RF systems. This role requires expertise in RF engineering and related technologies.

Who you are

You have a strong background in RF engineering, with experience in designing and developing RF systems for satellite communications. Your expertise includes working with DSP and FPGA technologies, and you are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive program-level decisions on RF system designs. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to tackle unique challenges in support of national security efforts.

You possess a solid understanding of the full life cycle of RF hardware development, including PCBA board testing and defect detection. Your ability to research novel solutions for large-scale satellite RF systems sets you apart, and you are committed to iterating rapidly to achieve operational capabilities. You are a team player who values collaboration and communication, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned throughout the development process.

Desirable

Experience with satellite communications and government projects is a plus. Familiarity with advanced RF technologies and a passion for space exploration will enhance your fit for this role. You are open to learning and adapting to new technologies as they emerge in the field.

What you'll do

As an RF Engineer on the Starshield team, you will be responsible for designing and building RF capabilities that support national security efforts. You will work closely with a team of RF engineers, DSP engineers, software engineers, and hardware engineers to create innovative solutions for proliferated communications and remote sensing in low earth orbit. Your role will involve driving program-level decisions on RF system designs and ensuring that all systems meet the required specifications.

You will conduct research to identify novel solutions for unique challenges in large-scale satellite RF systems. Your collaboration with hardware, FPGA, and DSP engineers will be crucial in designing and validating RF systems that are both effective and efficient. You will also be responsible for the development and full life cycle support of RF hardware, which includes conducting thorough testing and validation processes to ensure reliability and performance.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to explore unsolved problems and apply the SpaceX mindset of rapid iteration to transition from design and demonstration to operational capability. Your contributions will directly impact the success of the Starshield program and its mission to enhance national security through advanced satellite technologies.
