Duolingo is hiring a Staff iOS Engineer to enhance the infrastructure and tools for iOS development. You'll work with technologies like Bazel and CI pipelines to optimize build times for a large team of developers. This position requires experience in iOS engineering and a strong understanding of build systems.
You have extensive experience in iOS engineering, with a strong focus on building and optimizing application infrastructure. Your background includes working with build systems and CI pipelines, ensuring that development processes are efficient and scalable. You are comfortable representing your team in architectural discussions and can effectively communicate with stakeholders across various teams. Experience with Bazel and modularization strategies is a plus, as well as familiarity with optimizing build times for large teams. You may also have a background in performance optimization and architecture design, which will be beneficial in this role.
As a Staff iOS Engineer at Duolingo, you will be responsible for evaluating and setting the direction for iOS builds within the Client Builds and Infrastructure team. This includes exploring new technologies and strategies to enhance the efficiency of the iOS development process. You will work closely with over 70 iOS developers to optimize build times and improve application performance. Your role will involve architectural discussions where you will represent your team and bridge the gap between Client Platform and Product feature teams. You will also be tasked with implementing CI pipeline changes that will streamline the development workflow and ensure that the team can deliver high-quality applications quickly.
