Site Reliability Engineer

Who you are

You have a strong background in site reliability engineering, combining software development and operational skills to ensure high availability and performance of services. You understand the importance of observability and monitoring, and you have experience designing and implementing comprehensive dashboards that cover both OS/platform level and application-level monitoring. You are familiar with establishing and maintaining SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, ensuring that services meet ambitious reliability targets. Your expertise in performance monitoring allows you to build alerting systems that proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact users. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with platform, application, and database teams to deliver reliable services.

Desirable

Experience with automation tools and frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud infrastructure and container orchestration. You are comfortable with scripting and have a good understanding of CI/CD pipelines. A background in software development, particularly in languages such as Python or Go, will help you succeed in this role.

What you'll do

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Five9, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the reliability of our cloud contact center software. You will work approximately 50% of your time on software development and 50% on operational tasks, focusing on automation and system reliability. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing monitoring solutions that provide insights into system performance and availability. You will collaborate with various teams to establish SLIs and SLOs, ensuring that our services meet the reliability targets set by the organization. You will also be responsible for building alerting systems that help identify and resolve issues proactively, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
