We are looking for a Principal Finance Manager to join our Advertising Finance team, leading Advertising Marketing FP&A and Amazon Shopping Video finance functions.
Amazon Advertising Marketing inspires advertisers to choose Amazon Ads as their partner to engage their customers across every stage of the marketing funnel wherever they are.
Amazon Shopping Video enables customers to find inspiration, information, entertainment, and community through relevant videos at any point in their shopping journey.
This role has visibility across senior leaders (VP and Directors) in both the Advertising Marketing and Advertising Shopping Video organizations. The successful candidate will be a self-starting contributor with effective business partnership experience and proven abilities to manage complex projects and dive deep into the details when needed. This person will partner with finance and business leaders across several teams to provide strategic guidance, tactical direction, and decision support.
Key job responsibilities
- Understand and simplify financial plans and forecasts, financial close, narratives, and performance management processes.
- Create effective business partnerships, manage competing priorities, and provide guidance based on data analysis.
- With Controllership as the top priority, you identify, resolve, or provide guidance to resolve complex data integrity issues. You improve controls to address financial risk and support frugality.
- Deliver weekly/monthly reporting. Use internal automation tools (Amazon Quicksight) as appropriate to make reporting more efficient.
- Use active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjusts style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly.
- Identify and implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes.
- Make thoughtful time management decisions independently. Prioritize work, resolve issues, meet deadlines.- 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Experience working cross-functionally with a wide breadth of stakeholders, users, engineers, and leaders to generate buy-in
- Experience with process improvement and delivery of financial features
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or related field- Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes
- Experience with Tableau, Python, SQB, Quicksight, Cognos or or other BI packages

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
