Overview

Google is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead complex projects in Power Feed Equipment and Cloud Networking. You'll manage cable landing stations and ensure quality operations while leveraging your expertise in networking and optical technologies.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 5 years of experience in program management. Your background includes working with Power Feed Equipment (PFE) systems, and you have a solid understanding of network infrastructure, including submarine cable design and cable landing station site selection. You are adept at managing cross-functional projects and have experience with commercial and agreement management. Your knowledge of networking and optical technologies, as well as outside plant or layer one network design, sets you apart as a candidate.

You thrive in environments where you can lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You are comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels, from executives to engineers, and you can clearly articulate analyses and recommendations. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you believe that a problem isn’t truly solved until it’s resolved for all involved.

Desirable

You have a proven track record of managing cross-team projects and can demonstrate your ability to deliver results in challenging situations. Your experience with PFE systems and your ability to provide on-site expertise during critical situations are highly valued. You are proactive in discussing and managing third-party support agreements and optimizing processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.

What you'll do

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will manage all aspects of Google cable landing stations' power feed equipment systems and power operations. You will be the PFE expert, ensuring a quality acceptance procedure from build to operations. Your role will involve working closely with key suppliers, consortia partners, telcos, and customers to design alternative solutions and implement cost-saving measures. You will forecast regional power needs and manage on-site Programs on Demand (POD) installations, ensuring that all operations meet security compliance standards.

You will lead risk analyses and support regional teams with troubleshooting, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within scope. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional partners will be crucial as you navigate the complexities of project schedules and requirements. You will also be responsible for identifying risks and managing them proactively to ensure project success.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to building products that create opportunities for everyone. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. You will have the chance to work in a collaborative environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of our projects. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development.
