Overview

Formlabs is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to drive manufacturing technical readiness and collaborate with R&D teams. You'll work with AutoCAD and SolidWorks to establish production readiness. This role requires experience in manufacturing processes and product launch support.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a background in manufacturing engineering with experience in driving technical readiness for new product introductions. Your expertise in design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) allows you to support product, system, and process design effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working cross-functionally with mechanical design, electrical, and materials teams to troubleshoot processes and ramp manufacturing. You are detail-oriented and ensure that critical product specifications are addressed through established processes and control points.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and are comfortable working with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure industrialization and production readiness. Your ability to communicate effectively across global teams is essential, as you will be a critical member of the NPI teams driving results from early prototype phases through project completion. You are passionate about shaping the future of fabrication and are eager to contribute to innovative 3D printing technology.

Desirable

Experience with 3D printing technologies or related manufacturing processes is a plus. Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies will help you excel in this role. A proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues in manufacturing processes will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will drive manufacturing technical readiness as a key member of the NPI teams. You will collaborate directly with R&D teams to ensure that products are designed with manufacturability in mind. Your responsibilities will include establishing industrialization and production readiness while working closely with global teams, contract manufacturers, and suppliers. You will ensure that critical product specifications are met through effective process control points.

You will be involved in troubleshooting manufacturing processes and launching new products, ensuring that all aspects of production are optimized for efficiency and quality. Your role will require you to analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes, implementing best practices to enhance productivity. You will also participate in cross-functional meetings to align on project goals and timelines, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the product development lifecycle.
